Privacy Policy

Effective August 2026

The short version: we don't collect your data. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking. Overhead 1090's App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected."

Data the app handles — and where it stays

Aircraft data from your receiver. The app connects to ADS-B receivers on your local network. Aircraft positions, callsigns, and related data are received directly from your receiver and displayed on your device. This data is never sent to us or to any third party by the app.

Device location (optional). If you grant location permission, the app uses your location to center the map and calculate distances to aircraft. Your location is processed entirely on your device. It is never transmitted to us or anyone else. The app works without location permission — you can set your receiver position manually.

Settings. Your preferences (receiver addresses, display options) are stored only on your device. Nothing is synced to iCloud or any other cloud service.

Network connections the app makes

Your receiver — on your local network, to fetch live aircraft data.
Maps — the app displays maps using Apple's MapKit. Map imagery is requested from Apple by the system, under Apple's privacy policy; we receive nothing from those requests.
Demo mode uses sample data bundled with the app and makes no receiver connection.

The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Data we collect

None. We do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal data.

Children

Overhead 1090 does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app is rated 4+.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple. We never see your payment information.

Changes

If a future version of the app changes any of the above (for example, adding optional crash reporting), we will update this policy and the App Store privacy label before that version ships.
